- Core Composition: Calcium-silicon alloy (usually a mixture of Si and Ca, with a Si content generally ranging from 30% to 60% and a Ca content of about 10% to 30%).
- Outer layer wrapping: steel strip or aluminum skin, used to protect the stability of calcium silicate alloy during storage and use, preventing oxidation and deliquescence.

- Production of high purity steel: e.g. low carbon steel, ultra-low carbon steel, stainless steel and other highly demanding steel grades.
- Production of alloy steel: Calcium silicate cored wire is used to control trace elements in steel and enhance the performance of alloy steel.
- Special Purpose Steel: e.g. electrical steel, bearing steel, spring steel and other steel grades that require high mechanical properties and purity.
- Significant deoxidizing effect: The combined deoxidizing effect of silicon and calcium makes it possible to remove oxygen from the steel more thoroughly and improve the purity of the steel.
- Reduces the number and size of inclusions: By refining the inclusions, it reduces the defects within the material and improves the toughness, strength and other properties of the steel.
- Good desulfurization: Calcium effectively removes sulfur from molten steel, improving the toughness and workability of steel.
- High cost-effectiveness: Compared with other alloying elements, calcium silicate cored wire has higher deoxidation and desulfurization efficiency, and at the same time, it can reduce the consumption of alloying materials and improve the economic efficiency of production.
